Orchid High Venkateshwaraa Matriculation School

About Us

Orchid High Venkateshwaraa Matriculation School, started in 1985, is managed by M. P. Soman Educational trust and has been known for its academic excellence and discipline ever since its inception. We offer best-in-class curricula that focus on the individual development of the child across multiple facets (physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual and moral).

Activity-based learning is encouraged in all classes. Montessori methodology is followed in nursery and lower primary. Math kits are made available to enable hands-on learning.

Children today use Information Technology in daily life. Our upgraded computer facilities and Smart Boards make learning and research more effective.

True education is a lifelong pursuit that blends individualized academic planning, creative freedom, and character development such as integrity, honesty, self-discipline and respect for others. We believe character and academic excellence lead to students' positive contribution to the community. Apart from academics, music (since 1998), art & craft (since 1999) and yoga (since 2011) are conducted weekly as part of our curriculum.

Apart from academics, equal emphasis is placed on sports and club activities — English & Tamil Literary clubs, Mathematics club, Science club, Social club, Scouts and Guides, JRC etc. Inclusive education is in place for children with special needs since 2010, with assistant teachers, therapists and counselors supporting them.

  • We give all our students equal value.
  • Students are made to feel they belong and participate in co- and extra-curricular activities.
  • We treat each student with dignity and respect.
  • We account for each student's learning style to further their learning.
  • We have high but realistic expectations based on strengths and weaknesses.
  • We develop appropriate learning goals that are useful and interesting.
  • Each student experiences a positive and supportive learning environment at all times.

We provide value-based education and maintain a teacher-to-student ratio below 1:20. From KG to Std II, stationery is provided; from Std III to VIII, printed notes and class/homework notes are provided. We support special needs students with substitute teachers, therapists, and pull-out sessions to avoid travel. Weekly guidelines, counseling, and monthly parent meetings are organized.
